# Chat

Lands has private chat channels for land and nation members.

> This page describes the latest plugin version. If these commands don't work on your server, it may still be running an older version where land commands took an explicit `/land <land> ...` argument instead of acting on your edit land automatically.

## Land Chat

Use `/lands chat` to turn land chat mode on or off for your edit land.

When land chat mode is on, normal chat messages are sent to that land instead of global chat.

You can also send one message without changing your chat mode with `/lands chat <message>`.

If you are trusted in multiple lands, use `/lands edit <land>` first to pick which one you want to chat with.

## Nation Chat

Use `/nations chat` to turn nation chat mode on or off for your nation.

When nation chat mode is on, normal chat messages are sent to that nation instead of global chat.

You can also send one message without changing your chat mode with `/nations chat <message>`.

If you are part of multiple nations through different lands, use `/lands edit <land>` first to pick the land whose nation you want to chat with.
